Profile
Hi, my name is Marton! I am currently a third-year industrial and systems engineering student with a minor in Engineering Management. My main interests are mountain biking, golf, and skiing, but I am always trying new hobbies and love meeting new people.
During the summer of 2022, I got the opportunity to intern at UT Research Park at Cherokee Farm, working with six cleantech startups from the SPARK incubator program to help launch their products. This involved a wide range of responsibilities including product design, packaging solutions, branding, and manufacturing. I made connections with many founders and eventually started my own engineering consulting firm where I could continue working with more businesses. In 2023, I completed a year-long co-op at DENSO Manufacturing in Maryville, TN, where I was part of a production engineering team overseeing the manufacturing of Subaru information systems. This opportunity allowed me to enhance my CAD skills and gain insights into supporting high-volume electronics manufacturing in an industrial setting. For 2024, I got a co-op offer that I declined so that I could continue growing my business full-time. I am incredibly grateful that I got to experience what it is like to work for both small startups and a huge corporation, and I feel so much more confident in knowing what it means to be an industrial engineer and entrepreneur.
Participating in internships and co-ops has been pivotal in my college journey, and it helped me solidify my career path. Despite changing my major three times since starting college, these experiences have given me the confidence to pursue industrial engineering.
Some of my favorite tips I have learned: Always make the first move and show that you are committed to the goal at hand. Continually grow your skill set and learn to be your own salesperson. Ask questions and make those invaluable connections that will come back to help you later on.
As an EPP ambassador, I am excited to help others find their right match and kickstart their career in engineering. It can feel daunting at first so make sure to take advantage of the resources that we offer. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!
