Profile
Hi all! My name is Anna Witsoe, and I am a senior studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tennessee. Over the years at Tennessee, I have been fortunate enough to have completed one year long co-op and two internships. All of my work has been in the boating industry. During my year long co-op I worked at Malibu Boats in manufacturing engineering. I decided to take this role on right after my freshman year, and while it was challenging, it was one of the best decisions I could have made. At Malibu, I learned everything from manufacturing techniques, design engineering, and basic manufacturing knowledge, as well as simple corporate etiquette. Malibu was really the beginning of my love for internships and experience. They threw me in right away, and while I made plenty of mistakes, I was quickly able to adapt, learn, and grow as an engineer, and coming back to school with three years left to go, I was able to look at my course work with a different view, understanding now why each class is valuable. Following Malibu, I completed one internship for Mastercraft Boats in quality, manufacturing, and design engineering, and I am completing my second one with them in manufacturing. I loved being able to apply what I had learned from Malibu to Mastercraft and even further progress my engineering skill sets with this amazing company. As you can probably tell, I am passionate about wake boats and that doesn’t stop at work. During my time in school, I am involved in several extracurriculars. I am the vice president of VolWake, the university’s wakeboarding club, as well as a member of society of women engineers and I am beyond excited to be able to add Engineering Professional Practice to the list. Internships and co-ops in college have been some of my favorite times and I know that I wouldn’t be where I am, nor the engineering student I am today without them. And I am excited to share some of my passion with fellow classmates.
