Hello! My name is Sahil Jamani, and I'm a civil engineering student. I've worked two summer internships and a part-time internship in the spring. My first internship was with Jacobs Technology Group based out of Tullahoma, TN, where I worked throughout the summer of 2023. This internship was a unique experience as it was my first opportunity to work as an engineering intern. Jacobs Technology Group worked on unique projects that helped enhance my creativity. I focused more on unique design work and calculation templates. My second internship at MBI started in January 2024 and continued throughout the summer, ending in August 2024. At MBI, I obtained more experience in the field and learned the inner workings of a more common A&E firm. My projects ranged from general steel structures to larger masonry buildings and even some load development on several wooden structures.
From these internships, I've learned that while technical experience and understanding are incredibly important, interpersonal skills like teamwork and open communication are even more essential to being a successful engineer. Both internships also helped me understand the difference between classroom learning and actual project experience. My career experience so far has helped me shape my goals for the future. I aim to obtain a master's degree in both structural engineering and business administration as I feel that both of these degrees will help guide my future endeavors as a successful engineer and businessman
Some of my hobbies include sports (basketball, tennis, pickleball), and I also coach a flag football team. My other interests include reading, watching movies, playing games, and a little bit of podcasting.
As an ambassador at EPP, I hope to help other students in the way that my peers have helped me in the past. Our goal here is to help each student make career decisions and gain experience successfully, so just reach out to one of us to get started!
