I have had the pleasure of working four rotations with Southern Company. All of my rotations have been in Birmingham Alabama, but they have been split between two different groups. My first two rotations were with the Transmission Planning group. We handled planning the transmission network 10 years into the future. We also managed sighting studies for new generation and large loads wanting to join the network. The next two rotations have been with the Substation Protections and Controls Design group. As the name suggests, this group's role was to design the substations on the protections side of things. From wiring motors to designing an entire customer unit, we handled the design.

 

As for me, I'm an aspiring electrical engineer with a myriad of passions that keep me engaged and excited about life. Music has always been a significant part of my journey, and you'll often find me jamming out or attempting to create my own, exploring music is one of the few things to fully captivate me. In the realm of physical creativity, 3D printing is my go-to outlet. I love designing and bringing my ideas to life, whether it's prototyping new gizmos or creating unique gadgets. When it comes to winding down at the end of the day, video games provide the perfect escape. I primarily play RPGs, but I am also a sucker for strategy games.  As for the weekends, I'm not one to stay in my apartment all the time; I have a deep love for exploring the world. Whether it's exploring new cities or diving into new cultures, traveling feeds my sense of adventure and broadens my perspectives.
