Profile
I completed a summer internship at the Tennessee Department of Transportation with the Traffic Operations Division at their headquarters. They are responsible for providing guidance to improve highway safety and operations in Tennessee. I worked on crash analysis, pavement marking reviews, signal design, and compiled traffic trends and bottleneck reports. I also completed another summer internship at WSP USA in Nashville, TN with their roadway design group. I worked on a CADD standards manual, and horizontal and vertical curve tie-ins for driveways and sideroads.
I wanted to gain valuable technical and design experience, and professional practice outside of school.
I learned how valuable making connections and growing your professional network is. I talked with a variety of professional engineers who gave me great advice about educational and professional opportunities for the future.
It's a great opportunity to explore what you like and what you don't like about the industry or field of work you went in.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, playing with animals, and watching sports.
