Profile
I worked with Medtronic as an R&D Engineering Intern in the Renal Denervation operating unit, main product: SPYRAL Radiofrequency Ablation for 1 rotation. The main project was investigating alternative modalities for renal denervation using cryoablation. I also worked with MDR certification for SPYRAL in Santa Rosa, CA (but ended up being remote) I also spent a rotation with Edwards Lifesciences in Irvine, CA as an Advanced Quality Engineering Intern. They are a global leader in heart valves and their main product is the SAPIEN 3 transcatheter aortic heart valve. My key projects were creating a global TMV database and investigating use of double sampling on new product.
To get hands-on experience in biomedical engineering and determine what I like the best.
One of the sampling projects I worked on is going to be integrated into the sampling process for one of the new products that will be on the market this year.
Academically: Able to apply theory learned in class to a real-world scenario. Professionally: Has allowed me to network with a lot of people; helped me find what my passion is in Biomedical Engineering
Do it! You get a chance to travel, make money, and meet new people. What more could be better?
Outside of school I Iike reading, going to art galleries, and writing poetry.
