Profile

I co-oped with DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee for three rotations as a Production Engineer for Body Electronics Final Assembly. DENSO is an automotive company that supplies electronics and starters/alternators/inverters to large automotive makers. The division I worked in made key fobs, electric hybrid vehicle control boards, and receivers. I also interned for one rotation with Kimberly Clark Corporation in Loudon, Tennessee, who makes toilet paper, paper towels, and Kleenex. At this internship I worked under a process engineer in Bath Tissue and had projects focused on trials and environmental requirements.

I decided to co-op because of the experience it provides and the opportunities it opens the door for.

I researched, planned, and managed a project to replace a health risk chemical. I spent over six months on this project, and it ended up creating a new opportunity for long term improvement in health and safety.

My co-op has helped me get a good understanding of what I want to do in my career and how to network with people to achieve it. Additionally, it has helped me connect what I have learned in classes and apply it in engineering problems.

Co-ops have invaluable experience in applicable engineering work and can change your perspective on what you want to do.

I enjoy reading, weightlifting, bullet journaling, cooking, and hanging out with friends.
